Therapeutic indications
Used for the treatment of trichomonal vaginitis. It can also be used to prevent and treat anaerobic bacterial infections after minor gynecological surgeries.

Dose and method of administration
Vaginal administration: 0.5g once, 0.5g once every night, for 7 to 10 days. Metronidazole tablets should be taken at the same time, 0.2g each time, four times a day, for seven days.

Contraindications
Not suitable for pregnant and lactating women.

Special warnings and precautions for use
1. Interference with diagnosis. Metabolites of this product may cause urine to turn dark red.
2. The dose should be reduced in patients with existing liver disease. The drug should be discontinued if ataxia or other central nervous system symptoms occur, and a white blood cell count should be performed before repeating a course of treatment. For patients with anaerobic glue infection and renal failure, the interval between administration should be extended from 8 hours to 12 hours.
3. This product can inhibit alcohol metabolism. You should abstain from drinking during the medication. Abdominal pain, vomiting, headache and other symptoms may occur after drinking.

Metronidazole has a killing effect on cells and anaerobic microorganisms that grow under hypoxic conditions. The metabolites it generates when it is reduced in the human body also have anti-anaerobic effects, inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial DNA, thus interfering with the growth of bacteria, reproduce, and eventually cause the bacteria to die.
