Therapeutic indications
It is suitable for mild and moderate type II diabetes in which diet alone is not effective. The patient's pancreatic islet B cells have a certain function and there are no serious complications.

Dose and method of administration
Oral administration: Start with 2.5 mg, once before breakfast or before breakfast and lunch. For mild cases, 1.25 mg, three times a day, before meals. After 7 days, increase to 2.5 mg daily. The general dosage is 5 to 10 mg per day, and the maximum dosage does not exceed 15 mg per day.

Contraindications
The following situations should be disabled:
(1) Type 1 diabetic patients;
(2) Type II diabetic patients are accompanied by stress conditions such as ketoacidosis, coma, severe burns, infections, trauma, and major surgeries;
(3) People with liver and kidney dysfunction;
(4) Those allergic to sulfa drugs;
(5) Patients with leukopenia.

Special warnings and precautions for use
The following situations should be used with caution:
1. Weak constitution, high fever, nausea and vomiting, hyperthyroidism, and the elderly.
2. During the medication period, blood sugar, urine sugar, urine ketones, urine protein, liver and kidney function should be measured regularly, and eye examinations should be performed.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction
1. When taken together with alcohol, it can cause abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, headache, facial flushing and hypoglycemia.
2. The simultaneous use of chloramphenicol, guanethidine, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, phenylbutazone, oxyphenbutazone, probenecid, salicylates, and sulfonamides with this product can enhance the hypoglycemic effect.
3. Adrenocortical hormones, phenytoin, thiazide diuretics, and thyroxine can increase blood sugar levels. When used together with this type of medicine, the dosage of this type of medicine may need to be increased.
4. When coumarin anticoagulants and this class of drugs are used together, the plasma concentrations of both will increase initially, but then both will decrease, so the dosage of both needs to be adjusted.

Fertility, pregnancy and lactation
Pregnant women should not take it. Animal experiments and clinical observations have proven that sulfonylurea hypoglycemic drugs can cause stillbirth and fetal malformations.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
This product is a hypoglycemic drug.
(1) By directly acting on the liver, inhibiting hepatic glycogenolysis and glycogenation Xenobiotic effects, reducing liver production and output of glucose;
(2) It may also increase the sensitivity of extrapancreatic tissue to glucose utilization (possibly mainly through post-receptor effects). Therefore, the overall effect is to reduce fasting blood glucose and postprandial blood glucose.
