Therapeutic indications
Amoxicillin is suitable for the following infections caused by sensitive bacteria:
1. Upper respiratory tract infections such as otitis media, sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis caused by hemolytic Streptococcus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus or Haemophilus influenzae.
2. Urogenital tract infection caused by Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis or Enterococcus faecalis.
3. Skin and soft tissue infections caused by hemolytic Streptococcus, Staphylococcus or Escherichia coli.
4. Lower respiratory tract infections such as acute bronchitis and pneumonia caused by hemolytic Streptococcus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus or Haemophilus influenzae.
5. Acute simple gonorrhea.
6. This product can still be used to treat typhoid fever, typhoid carriers and leptospirosis.

Dose and method of administration
Oral. Adults take 0.5g once every 6 to 8 hours, and the daily dose should not exceed 4g. The daily dose for children is 20-40 mg/Kg, once every 8 hours; for infants under 3 months old, the daily dose is 30 mg/Kg, once every 12 hours. Patients with severe renal impairment require dosage adjustment.

Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with penicillin allergy and positive penicillin skin test.

Special warnings and precautions for use
1. Penicillin oral drugs can occasionally cause anaphylactic shock, especially in patients with a history of allergy to penicillins or cephalosporins. Before taking medication, you must ask about the history of drug allergy in detail and do a penicillin skin test. If anaphylactic shock occurs, rescue should be carried out on the spot, and treatment measures such as keeping the airway open, oxygen inhalation, and glucocorticoids should be administered.
2. Patients with infectious mononucleosis are prone to rash when using this product and should avoid using it.
3. Patients with a long course of treatment should have their liver and kidney functions and blood routine checked.
4. Amoxicillin can cause false positives in urine glucose tests using Benedit or Fehling reagents.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction
1. Probenecid competitively reduces the renal tubular secretion of this product. Simultaneous use of the two may cause an increase in amoxicillin blood concentration and a prolongation of the half-life.
2. Chloramphenicol, macrolides, sulfonamides and tetracyclines interfere with the antibacterial effect of amoxicillin in vitro, but their clinical significance is unknown.

Fertility, pregnancy and lactation
Pregnant women should only use this product when absolutely necessary. Since amoxicillin can be secreted in small amounts in breast milk, nursing mothers may cause allergies in babies after taking it.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic that is effective against Streptococcus pneumoniae, hemolytic Streptococcus and other Streptococci, non-penicillinase-producing Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis and other aerobic Gram-positive cocci, Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Salmonella Beta-lactamase-non-producing strains of aerobic Gram-negative bacteria such as Haemophilus influenzae and Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Helicobacter pylori have good antibacterial activity. Amoxicillin exerts a bactericidal effect by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, causing bacteria to quickly form spheroids and dissolve and rupture.
